Supporting Grassroots Sport — Why Sponsoring Our U7s Means So Much

This season, Wild Kindness proudly sponsors our local under-7s football team — a group of amazing young players I’m incredibly lucky to coach each week.

For me, Wild Kindness has always been about more than trail running or outdoor fitness sessions. It’s a movement built around joy, confidence, community, and helping people find their place in the outdoors. Coaching young players is where these values truly come to life.

Working with children in grassroots football reminds me why movement matters. Kids don’t train for PBs or race times — they move because it feels good. They run because they’re excited. They fall, laugh, get up again, and discover their own strength without even realising it.

Seeing these players arrive full of energy, learn new skills, support each other, and grow in confidence is one of the highlights of my week. Now, seeing them do it while proudly wearing Wild Kindness apparel on their shirts makes it even more meaningful.

Sponsoring this team is more than providing a kit — it’s a commitment to youth sport, children’s fitness, and encouraging active, healthy lifestyles from a young age. Grassroots football is one of the best environments for kids to learn important life lessons: teamwork, resilience, kindness, and the confidence that comes from trying something new.

Whether on the football pitch, on a trail run, or exploring the outdoors, the core belief is the same:
movement builds happier, healthier humans.

At Wild Kindness, we want every child to feel welcome in sport — no pressure, no ego, just encouragement and enjoyment. These players are a daily reminder of why I started all this in the first place.

Because when kids move wild, they learn to live kind.
